Experimental study of a natural convection flow in a cubic enclosure with a partially heated inner block

Abstract In many industrial contexts, buoyancy driven flows are the only cooling strategy in case of breakdown forced convection system. order to study those a simplified configuration, buoyancy-driven flow is generated inside cubic enclosure by partially heated block ( Ra = 1.4 × 10 9 ). The studied experimentally vertical median plane, part where i.e. close side block. Velocity fields, mean profiles and RMS statistics analyzed. results show presence boundary layer with central zone nearly at rest stratified. velocities intensified elevation.
